How to get rid of cat urine odor? - urine odor menopause

He is cat urine on my carpet. I have sprayed the room with a product for the odor of urine. All this did was to add another sense the smell of cats to the list. Today, I treated the area with vinegar and water and put a fan in the dry zone. The smell is still there, but a little better. I pulled the carpet from landfills and the problem is much bigger than I thought. New carpet is not an option. What can I do to get rid of this smell? The spot is in my bedroom for 2 years.
